IFS Training Scholarship Policy

IFS Institute is committed to providing scholarships to help make IFS trainings accessible and affordable to qualified participants. Our organization has a long history of providing scholarships to participants in IFS Institute-organized Level 1, 2, and 3 programs based on individual economic need and we are also committed to broadening inclusion within the IFS community and among participants in IFS trainings.

Specifically, IFS Institute offers scholarships to expand training affordability for those with economic challenges, with additional support for individuals from traditionally underrepresented populations or individuals who serve underrepresented populations, including people of the global majority, the LGBTQ+ community, and people in marginalized or poverty-stricken communities.

IFS Institute invites you to apply for an IFS training program scholarship on the basis of one or both of the following categories:

  • Economic Need Scholarships: IFS Institute considers scholarship applications based on economic need of the applicant, and this process considers their financial profile.
  • Diversity and Inclusion Scholarships: IFS Institute may provide a tuition reduction for people who identify as part of the global majority or the LGBTQ+ community, or whose life’s work serves the global majority, the LGBTQ+ community, or those in marginalized or poverty-stricken communities.

Applicants may receive up to a 60% tuition scholarship, with most scholarship awards ranging from 10-40% of a training’s tuition. While scholarships are available, IFS Institute will continue to use economic need as the primary criterion for awarding scholarships, and we ask those who have sufficient financial means to forego the above scholarship opportunities so that we can provide as much financial support as possible to those in the greatest need.

Scholarships are available for North American, IFS Institute-organized training programs. They are not available for other trainings, or for other IFS events such as workshops, the IFS annual conference, IFS webinars, or any other non-training events. These scholarships are not available for those enrolled in IFS Institute’s Organizational Training Programs.

TO APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

We accept scholarship applications from people who have already submitted training program applications, and we review scholarship applications for those who have been accepted into trainings. If you are accepted to a training’s wait list, we will review your scholarship application if you get a space in the training itself (no deposit or tuition balance is charged if you are on a wait list).

Scholarship Application Deadline: Please submit your scholarship application within a few days of submitting your program application as it can take several weeks to process a scholarship application, and note that each scholarship application is reviewed once per training. Thank you!

Level 1 Scholarship Application Deadline:

  • One (1) month (usually) before Payment Plan #2 begins for your Level 1 training.
  • Please see the training’s webpage for the calendar date.

Level 2 and Level 3 Scholarship Application Deadline:

  • One (1) month (usually) before the tuition balance billing date for your Level 2 or 3 training.
  • Please see your training’s webpage for the calendar date.

Post-Deadline Scholarship Applications:

Economic Need Scholarship Applications can be submitted after the scholarship application deadline only if (1) an applicant applies or is accepted to a training after the scholarship deadline, or (2) if the applicant’s financial circumstances have significantly changed since the scholarship deadline (for #2, billing will still occur according to the training’s payment plans). If you apply to a training after the scholarship deadline, please submit your scholarship application on the same day as your program application so we may process it as quickly as possible.

Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship Applications can be submitted after the scholarship application deadline only if an applicant applies or is accepted to a training after the scholarship deadline.

Scholarship applications cannot be accepted after a training begins.

SCHOLARSHIP NOTIFICATION & BILLING

If you are accepted into a training and you submitted a scholarship application, we will email you when a decision has been made about your scholarship (this can take several weeks). At that time, we will ask you to accept or decline the scholarship.

Your program deposit will be charged when you are accepted into a training. If you decline your place in the training when we tell you about your scholarship, we will refund your full deposit. If you withdraw from the training after that time, a refund would be made according to the withdrawal/refund policy in effect for your training.

All scholarship awards are deducted from the tuition balance that remains after the program deposit is paid. If you are not accepted into the training, no deposit will be charged.

Thank you for your interest in IFS!

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
